Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026

KidsGigs (kidsgigs.app) is operated by Webnostix, the trading name of Leon Duffus, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). We provide a family chore and pocket-money application used by parents and guardians to assign chores to their children and track pocket money. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, and we handle it in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who the service is for

KidsGigs accounts are created and managed by adults (parents or guardians). Children use KidsGigs only through a child profile inside a parent-managed family account, created and controlled by their parent. We do not allow children to sign up independently, and we do not market to children.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data (parents): your name, email address, and password (stored hashed).
  • Child profile data: the first name or nickname and profile settings a parent chooses to add. We deliberately require no other information about a child — no email address, no date of birth, no photos.
  • App activity: chores created and completed, pocket-money amounts, streaks, achievements, and similar in-app records your family generates by using the service.
  • Billing data: if you subscribe after the free beta, payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; we receive only confirmation of payment status and a subscription reference.
  • Technical & analytics data: device and usage information (pages viewed, approximate location at country/city level, browser type) collected via PostHog to help us understand how the product is used and fix problems.

3. Advertising cookies and consent

We advertise KidsGigs on third-party platforms, including Microsoft Advertising. Our site includes the Microsoft Advertising UET tag, which can use an advertising cookie to measure whether our ads lead to signups. This cookie is off by default. It is only enabled if you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner, and you can decline with no effect on how the app works. Your choice is remembered on your device and you can clear it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.

4. Why we process your data (lawful bases)

  • To provide the service (accounts, chores, pocket-money tracking, billing) — performance of a contract.
  • To understand and improve the product (analytics) — our legitimate interest in running and improving KidsGigs.
  • Advertising measurement — your consent, given via the cookie banner.
  • To meet legal obligations — e.g. tax and accounting records for payments.

5. Children’s data

Child profiles exist only inside a parent’s account and contain the minimum data needed for the app to work (a name the parent chooses, plus chore and pocket-money activity). Parents can edit or delete a child profile at any time, which removes the child’s data. We do not use children’s data for advertising or analytics profiling, and we never sell personal data — anyone’s.

6. Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers we use to run KidsGigs: Railway (hosting and databases), Stripe (payments), PostHog (analytics, EU-hosted), and Microsoft Advertising (ad measurement, only with your consent as above). Each processes data under contracts consistent with UK GDPR. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

7. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal reasons (e.g. payment records, kept for 6 years under UK tax law).

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email us at [email protected] and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), passwords are stored hashed, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we design for data minimisation — the less we collect, the less can go wrong.

10. Changes and contact

If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email. Questions? Contact [email protected].
